Ingredients
- 1 Lb Strip Steak
- 5 Tbsps Soy Sauce
- 2 Tbsps White Sugar
- 1/4 Cup Green Onion
- 2 Tbsps Garlic
- 2 Tbsps Sesame Seed
- 2 Tbsps Sesame Oil
- 1/2 Tsp Ground Black Pepper
- 1 1/2 Tbsp Lime Juice
Directions
- Trim excess fat from steak
- Put steak in freezer for 30 minutes
- Chop green onion, both green and white parts, add to bowl
- Peel and mince garlic, add to bowl
- Add soy sauce, white sugar, sesame seeds, sesame oil, ground black pepper and lime juice to bowl and mix until ingredients are combined
- Remove steak from freezer and thinly slice steak, try for 1/8" slices, add to bowl
- Toss steak in marinade until evenly coated
- Place contents into gallon zip-lock bag and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to overnight
- Bring cast iron skillet up to 400 degrees F
- Add beef to skillet and cook to your liking
Notes
- If you’re on a time crunch pick up a vacuum marinator. Place marinated meat in marinator and seal, following included instructions, for at least 30 minutes.
- If you want to avoid refined sugar, replace sugar with 1 TBSP of honey
- Juice fresh limes for better flavor
- You don't need to put your steak in the freezer before slicing, it just makings it easier to get a thinner cut
